Seam Tracking: Control Units
APC CONTROL UNIT
The STC-301 features advanced engineering that makes it rugged and easy to set up, interface, operate and service. Microprocessor-based controls allow the operator to preprogram up to 19 independent weld jobs and to switch easily between them. This process is described in detail on the APC specifications page. AP Automation Seam Tracking Systems are fully compatible with all Cyclomatic?„¢ equipment.
APC: ADVANCED PROGRAMMING CONTROL
This option can be purchased pre-built into the system or as an easy-to-install add-in to the standard controller. With the APC, the Seam Tracking Sensor will automatically find the weld joint and control the entire weld cycle for position-based or time-based welding.
-
Tack Cut-Off Mode
Disables automatic tracking when the sensor encounters a tack weld bead. Automatic tracking is re-enabled once the sensor drops off of the tack weld bead. -
End-of-Weld Mode
Sensor drops off end of part and goes into overlap to compensate for distance (x) to complete the weld. -
Timed Mode
Sensor times out at preset distance (y) to complete desired length of weld.
STANDARD CONTROL UNIT
The AP Automation STC-300 Standard control unit is the more affordable solution when the advanced features of the STC-301 are not needed for your application. The STC-300 has joystick control in manual mode and full seam tracking ability in automatic mode. Should your requirements change, the STC-300 can easily be upgraded with an APC Option Kit.
